New Year 2000 Photos

Chris and Michelle and their friends (Sheryl, Andrew and Katie) headed for the mountains to celebrate the coming of Y2K. The plan was to hold up at a hostel, enjoy some real snow and have a lot of champagne and that's just what we did.

Michelle bundled One Day we headed out to see the town and the Open Air Museum. The road from the hotel was long and scenic and chilly. Here. Michelle is bundled and trudging through the elements.

The Lebman-Browns
The Lebman-Browns trudge along too. Katie looked very cute in her red coat. She enjoyed her little sled (much more than Andrew did)

Michelle and Beehives
Michelle's favorite buildings include these little beehives. They have carved faces and the bees fly in and out of mouths and ears. She's standing in front of them.

Family in the Snow
Katie really enjoyed making snowballs while we saw the houses and buildings. Sheryl and Andrew watch her with amusement (perhaps)

Michelle and the Totem
At the entrance is a big totem pole. Michelle stands by it and looks worried as Andrew and Sheryl try to get the number of a good taxi service and then any taxi service.

The Wooden Church
The Centerpeice of the village is the wooden church. It looks magical here under all the snow.

At the Well
Katie stands by the wooden well. Notice the snawball in her hand and the maniacal grin on her face.

Katie Sledding
Katie was dragged around wherever we went. It's good to be a kid.

Winter Wonderland
The snow was very fresh and new It was a wonderful time to see the buildings and park.

Group Photo
Here all of us stand waiting for the instant photo to go off.

Our Toast
This is the two of us on one of our champagne bottles (not the first)

Everyone Toasts
Here is everyone wishing you a Happy New Year.

All in all it was a lovely wintery holiday. It was lovely to be in the brisk cold air and the snow (and sleep a lot) Hopefully, Y2001k will be just as fun.
